"Now popular annual performers at Golowan, Penzance’s outstanding resident string orchestra have attracted national recognition for their energy, musical commitment and innovative programmes. Current holders of the Cornish Gorsedh Award, these young musicians have been invited to perform in three of the last four Schools Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, and have won the youth orchestra section of the Cornwall Music Festival for 7 consecutive years. They present a cultural tour of Europe and beyond including the first performance of a new concerto for Double Bass and Strings by Andrew Wilson, performed by outstanding local talent Ted Francis-Smith."
